All graduating students must file an Application for Graduation with the Office of the Registrar and pay a graduation fee. To participate in Commencement, graduating students must purchase, from Meredith’s Campus Store, a traditional black gown and a hood in the color representing their field of study.
Policy on Participation in Commencement Exercises
Students completing the M.B.A., M.Ed., M.A.T., M.A. or M.S. programs are eligible to attend the College Commencement ceremonies held each May. It is the policy at Meredith College for students to have fulfilled all degree requirements and be cleared for graduation by the Office of the Registrar in order to participate. Students who anticipate fulfilling the graduation requirements in Summer and meet the criteria below may petition to participate in the May graduation ceremonies. To petition for permission, the student must:
- Complete the online Petition to Participate by April 1;
- Demonstrate that all requirements for the degree will be met by the July 31st or August 31st graduation date.
Certificate programs may hold separate departmental recognitions upon program completion. Contact the department for additional information.
